Capella University is a private co-education university in the United States. Owned by the Capella Education Company, the university has an enrollment of 37,553 students from all 50 states and about 60 other countries, offering 143 graduate and undergraduate specializations and 17 certificate programs with over 1690 online courses.
Capella University was established in 1991 by Dr. Harold Abel and Stephen Shank, and renamed Capella University in 1993. As an online university, the leaning programs are offered via the internet. The online teaching is conducted with course rooms, which are built with the Blackboard Learning System software.
The university offers degrees in certificate bachelor’s, post-bachelor’s certificate, master’s, post moster’s certificate, doctorate’s programs, and a variety of combined-degree programs, such as BPA/MPA, BS/MHA, etc.
