OVERVIEW

Liberty University is a private university. It is also the largest evangelical Christian university. There are nearly 12,500 students admitted to this university in total every year. Not only do this university enroll residential students, but also it recruits students for its online programs. Students can study either on campus or via the internet.

The university was founded in the year of 1971 and has grown fast ever since. Now LU has grown into the nation’s 7th largest four-year university. LU is located in Lynchburg in the States of Virginia. Its campus is big, having many apartments and living facilities nearby.

Liberty University offers degrees in bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate’s programs. The vast majority of its students are enrolled as undergraduates pursuing a four-year bachelor’s degree. ACCREDITATION

LU is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of College and School, which is an institutional accreditation. In addition to this, lots of studying programs offered by Liberty have also received accreditation provided by different organizations, including National Council for Accreditation of Teach, Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, etc.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for the university are required to possess high school diplomas. General Educational Development (GED) is equally effective. It also requires applicants to take standardized tests like SAT or ACT. Usually, the university consider academic factors as a priority during the enrollment. GPA and test scores are considered to be vital importance.

COSTS AND FINANCIAL AID

The tuitions and fees for year 2011-2012 is USD 19,154. Students spend USD 1,888 for life expanses on average and USD 6,680 for accommodation.

The university offers two kinds of scholarship to its students based on the students’ qualifications. The Need-based scholarship will provide a scholarship up to USD 7,518, while the Non-need-based scholarship will provide a scholarship up to USD 5,917.
